Welcome to Churchend School! We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. We completed our most recent OfSTED inspection in September 2008 and have published the findings on our website. Our school was judged to be Outstanding in all areas. We gained this same judgement 3 years previously, in 2005. It is an excellent and highly complimentary report that we are all immensely proud of. Please do take the time to read it. Churchend is a National Support School ,which means that we offer guidance and support to other schools who need help to improve academic standards. We have also recently been designated as a Teaching School which is a huge accolade. We are the only Teaching School in Reading. Again, this means that we take a central role in supporting other schools to improve. At Churchend we are committed to ensuring that all our children will succeed at school and do well.Through a broad range of lessons and extra curricular activities we expect to support children in discovering their particular strengths and passions. Whether that be maths, science, music ,sport or a wealth of other activities they will be involved in, we intend to help children develop interests and skills that will remain with them throughout their lives. Please feel free to leave comments in the Guestbook, or contact the school direct (details below) with any queries you may have. From September 2012 has accepted additional pupils into our Key Stage 2 Department. We enroll approx. 6 more children to Year 3 each year. If you think you may be interested in a place, please contact Reading Borough Council for an application form. Deadline for applying for a year 3 place each September is January of that particular year and Reading Borough Council allocate the places. On occassions we are also able to offer places to children in other year groups, for example, if children move house to another area. If you wish to be considered for one of these places, please inform our school office and they will tell you how to put your name on our waiting list. Alternatively, the in year waiting list admission form is available below for you to complete and return to the school. Thank you! Kate Dethridge Headteacher
